General Atmosphere - Our worship services and other activities are informal, come-as-you-are events. Our desire is that you will feel comfortable and welcomed in every way. We ask that you stop by our Guest kiosk for any general information or need you may have. We also have portable hearing devices available to check out.
If you’re comfortable, after the service, we invite you to fill out a guest card and bring it to Guest Services for a gift from the members of Salem and to introduce yourself to Kevin Pieper, Minister of Mission and Outreach. He’ll be the bald headed guy with the smile on his face! You’ll also get an introduction to him during the worship time so you’ll be able to recognize him.
Sunday Worship - We offer two identical style worship services at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The service style is an ancient-future approach, including drama and video presentations, as well as inspiring music to help communicate the never-changing Message of the Lord and encourage life-changing worship. Prior to and before the service we have light refreshments at the Lakeside Cafe.
Church for Kids! KidQuest! During the 9 a.m. service, KidQuest is a special worship time for children ages 4 years through 3rd grade. Right before the message begins, kids are escorted to this safe, highly-interactive worship activity. Parents are welcome to come with their child. The KidQuest is at Center Stage, right behind the worship altar. Kids are learning what the adults are learning, only on their level and in their language!
Sunday School - The Educational hour is at 10:30 a.m. Our staff and volunteers provide exciting programming and teaching for children and adults of all ages. These programs are designed for children from pre-school on up through all life stages of adulthood.
Nursery Childcare - Our nursery is fully equipped and staffed with loving care-givers during the Worship Services and Educational times. Parents of infants and toddlers are provided with pagers allowing real-time communication, if necessary. We even have a special Toddler Time at 10:30 a.m. for 3's, 4's and parents!
We know that as a parent you need to be sure that your children are in a SAFE learning environment. And we know that your children are looking for a FUN place to learn. We’ve invested a lot to make sure that both of these goals are reached.
Am I expected to participate in the offering and communion? The offering is for those who are part of the Salem family. Instead of wanting you to give something, we want you to get something from your time at worship. And, that is a feeling of acceptance at our church and a closer glimpse of God.
Holy Communion is for those in our church body who believe as we do in this Sacrament of the Altar. We believe it is the true body and blood of Jesus Christ, in, with, and under the bread and the wine, given for the forgiveness of our sins. Before partaking in this meal we ask that you speak to an Elder or a Pastor available Sunday morning at the kiosk.
If it’s been a long time since you’ve been to church, Salem has you in mind! There’s already enough you have to think about when you’re visiting a church for the first time. We hope that getting some of this “stuff” out of the way not only encourages you to join us for church, but also helps you to connect with the hope and encouragement that God has for you.
Kevin Pieper , Community Relations, would love to meet you when you visit. Kevin says, "Salem is a really dynamic church! You can tell God is here! I'd love to help you get plugged into the joy that belonging to this place has given me and lots of others! You can email now at kpieper@salem4u.com with any pre-visit questions you may have about our church, worship style and anything else you may want to know!"
