Our community is very important to us. We want to reclaim our community for Jesus. And one way we do that is by partnering with community organizations that are bringing the reality of God's love into people's lives by meeting practical needs.
In 2 Corinthians 5: 18-21, we are told two things:
that Christ reconciled the world to himself...that’s the gospel message
that Christ in turn gave us the responsibility to spread this ministry of reconciliation
Central to who we are as Christians is this passion and obligation to share the gospel message of Christ… that “God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them.” That’s the good news of the gospel! There is no longer any need to go to sleep with a guilty conscience, to feel a distance between you and God, to wonder if you’re “good enough” to go to heaven! We’ve been reconciled to God!
This is all about our mission to "risking it all to make Jesus real, ONE life at a time." Salem is all about the ONE focus.
"I was once too scared to walk out and tell people who I was and my identity
with God...but now I can find myself comfortably walking into a room and telling them exactly how I feel and within five minutes you'll probably know that I want to be a pastor."
Since we now “have this ministry of reconciliation”, each of us is challenged to reach out to the ONE person in our lives who is far from God. Pray. Invite. Encourage. At all times. ONE Videos
Monthly Box Ministry
One of the ways we encourage the spirit of generosity on our campus is through the Box Ministry. Each month our community is invited to give gifts is kind to a variety of ministries in our area that are doing incredible work. Grab a box at the beginning of the month and fill it with the ingredients on the label. These supplies are delivered to the ministry at the end of each month.
Impact Sundays are an opportunity for our church to actually BE the church. In place of morning worship services we are going to be the hands and feet of Christ. It's our prayer that Impact Sunday helps you build lasting relationships with people you serve alongside as we see a need, and meet a need, together.
Salem was proud to give back $90,000 to our community on April 10, 2016. The three organizations included TEAM, Tomball Renewal Center and TOMAGWA. Salem is thankful to it's guests and members who have chosen to be generous time and time again!
