Knowing him could be dangerous….
Jesus was dangerous to the status quo:
- His treatment of women raised the bar of honor and respect in their culture
- His love for children elevated their value from possessions to treasured gifts from God
- His care for the sick challenged the social stigma of the “Whose sin caused that one?” mentality of the day
- His healing people of other races made him dangerous to the racism of his day
- The stories he told exposed the hearts of people who worked hard to conceal their inside junk
- His claims as to his identity made people furious
Jesus’ followers can be dangerous, too:
- When they learn to love like he loved
- When they discover their lives have purpose and meaning
- When they realize their past has been forgiven
- When they realize their eternity has been secured
- When they band together to do good in the world
