One day, long, long ago, a guy named Noah was called by God to build an ark. I have no idea how that happened. Maybe it was in a dream, maybe he heard some disembodied voice or maybe while he was scrolling through his news feed one of those click bait ads “You can build an ark in less than 100 years!” popped up and he clicked.
It’s really not important HOW God called Noah. The fact is, God did call Noah to serve and Scripture is very clear God calls us to serve also. Thankfully, Noah responded with a ‘yes’, because if he hadn’t, I’m not sure we would all be here today!
God’s call is sometimes broad, but can also sometimes be pretty specific. Jason Schleicher continues with Honestly, Say What You Mean this morning to discuss whether we can ever respond to the call of God with a ‘maybe’. Now that’s an intriguing thought.
So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord…who has saved us and called us to a holy life–not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time… 2 Timothy 1:8-9
