Making All Things New!
It is possible that God says every morning, “Do it again” to the sun; and every evening, “Do it again” to the moon. It may be that God makes each daisy separately, but has never grown tired of making them. It may be that He has the eternal appetite of infancy; for we have sinned and grown old, and our Father is younger than we. The repetition in Nature may not be a mere recurrence; it may be a theatrical encore. G.K. Chesterton, Christian apologist
Well, spring sprung this week and Doug Dommer teaches on one of the most curious texts for teaching I’ve ever seen. With those two items in mind, this quote energized my passion for why we want to be praying for our ONE to not be just another soul to be saved, but a new soul to hold citizenship in Heaven because of God’s love for us in Jesus.
God is really excited about making things new! For God, tomorrow is not just another day; it’s a new day. This spring may be just another season to us, but to God, it’s a new season. While we thank God for the service of another generation of great leaders, God is raising a new generation He will guide and direct to take us to new horizons, serve people in new ways and offer worship with new hearts.
God is not old, as we are so often led to believe. He is God of the new and not the just another.
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Revelation 21:5
