Peace In The Storm John 16:33
There is not a single one of us that doesn’t want peace.
I love the Apostle Paul’s words where he says “a peace which surpasses all understanding” (Philippians 4:7). We desperately want peace. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 Click To Tweet
But we want peace and assume that means we’re not going to have trouble. This is why you have to keep stuff in context. Jesus is telling you these things so that you can have peace in the middle of trouble. He didn’t say I’m going to give you peace and remove the trouble. He said I’ll give you peace in trouble. I’ll be there with you in the storm. I’m not going to stop the storm. I’m not going to keep the storm from coming.Jesus said I'll give you peace in trouble. Click To Tweet
I promise you there are storms coming but I’ll be with you in the storm. And therefore you can have peace because the one who sleeps in the storm is the one who can say to the storm be still, quiet. He’s the one that’s with you in the boat. Take heart. I have overcome the world.
