It might be difficult for some of us to see order amidst all the chaos in our world today. Our first resource for understanding events in this life is the Book that consistently points us to the next. From its first chapters, the Bible tells us God has already paved the way for us to enjoy the fullness of life as He intended.

In Jesus’ life, death and resurrection God assures us the events and conditions of this life, from the worst to the best, will resolve to a glorious end as the virus of sin infecting the essence of our hearts is banished for eternity. As we immerse ourselves in the Word of God, we see we’re not experiencing anything different today than all mankind before us. He has a plan and His purposes will not be thwarted by disease, arrogance, civil unrest or economics.
C.S. Lewis provides a helpful perspective: “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” A worldview shaped apart from the Truth of the Bible at best produces false hope and only a shadow of the glory God desires us to experience. Viewing life through the filter of Scripture fills us with assurance and empowers us to seek and offer forgiveness eagerly, to serve the ungrateful with grateful hearts and to live faithfully as disciples of Jesus.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
