International Mission Opportunities

While loving our neighbors is always easier in our communities, an international mission trip can be a life-changing experience. We subscribe to the concept of Asset Based Community Development (ABCD). Thus, we believe innovations, solutions, and leaders are already present in that community, and we have something to learn when we enter. We value partnerships with local pastors, professionals, and other indigenous leaders. We listen to the wisdom of those who live in these communities, and ask how we can be good, empowering partners in ministry. Click below to learn more about our international mission opportunities.

Local Mission Opportunities

DISASTER RESPONSE TEAM

Join a team to respond after a natural disaster has impacted our state or nation. Skills and needs will differ depending on the type of event.  Contact Kevin Pieper at kpieper@salem4u.com for information about current relief/rebuilding projects.

FAMILY SERVICE DAYS

Work with your family to serve other families in our community. We will coordinate projects that might involve painting, yard work, light construction, cleaning, cooking, letter-writing, crafts, and more. Build relationships with a team of other volunteers and with the people we serve.  Contact Jill Boldt at jcboldt@salem4u.com for information about current volunteer opportunities.

Helping Hands Ministry

Use your hands on skills to help local families, widows, elderly with projects around the house. Projects can range from the simple (light bulbs and ceiling fans) to the more complex (plumbing, construction, tree trimming, etc.) Work with other team members on larger projects. Contact Kevin Pieper at kpieper@salem4u.com for more information.

PILL PACKING

Help our international mission teams prepare for the next mission by packing pills, cough drops, ointments, eye drops, and more. There will be safe jobs for young children, too.  For information about upcoming Pill Packing events, contact Jill Boldt at jcboldt@salem4u.com.

SALEM WOMEN IN MISSIONS (SWIM)

Join the bold and courageous sisters of Salem who gather monthly to make a difference in the world through mission projects, Bible study, and prayer. Meetings are on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 6:30-9 pm in Salem’s Fellowship Hall. Contact Jill Boldt at jcboldt@salem4u.com for more information.
