Jr. High Mission Trip to Lake Charles each summer that is open to incoming 7th graders and 8th graders. On this trip students will live out the gospel by serving those who’ve suffered through hurricanes and hardships. Teams of students and adults work on various projects such as debris clean up, demo work, painting, yard work, prayer walks and anything else needed. Let's go serve Jesus by serving others!

High School Mission Trip to Belize each summer for 10-12th grade students. Participants partner with Belizian churches and pastors to live out the gospel through VBS, work on various projects in the community, and minister to those that others may have been forgotten in orphanages, hospitals, senior centers, and homebound shut-ins.

Student Conference in Panama City Beach, FL each summer, open to incoming freshmen through 12th grade. Join us and have a blast on a 5 day beach camp! Complete with awesome speakers, musicians, games & hosted on one of Florida's most beautiful beaches. This trip focuses on discovering Jesus through word and worship, building faith-focused friendships, and having FUN in a safe and encouraging environment.

Many children in the Lutheran-Christian faith were Baptized as infants. In Baptism, we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and a new identity - we are now Sons or Daughters of our Heavenly Father. In Confirmation, we publicly confess that what took place in our Baptism, is real faith and we believe that Jesus is our Lord and Savior. Students who get Confirmed are “affirming their Baptism”. 

• WHAT IF MY CHILD ISN’T BAPTIZED? All students are welcome to be a part of this learning process. Those who have not been baptized can begin a conversation with any of our leaders about getting baptized before the completion of the confirmation process.
• WHAT ARE CONFIRMATION CLASSES LIKE? At Salem, Confirmation is a 2-year class we offer to all students in 7th - 11th grade. Students study The Lord’s Prayer, The Apostles Creed, The 10 Commandments, The Old & New Testament, Sin, Baptism and Communion, and Christian Faith Habits. 

Students are required to memorize scripture, take sermon notes, and participate in the FUSE retreat in November and the Winter Lock-In in January. 

During the Confirmation classes and instruction, students will use two workbooks to guide them through the process-one book for each year. All students complete the workbooks on their own with the help of parents. There are 6 in-person classes for students from September through March. While Confirmation is not a requirement for students, when you sign up to participate in Confirmation, you are agreeing to the requirements outlined in the program in order to complete it and be Confirmed. 

• HOW DO YOU SUPPORT PARENTS THROUGH THE PROCESS? We are committed to supporting your family and your student during the process, so we also offer parent/guardian classes designed to teach and train you to have follow-up conversations with your student. 
• HOW DO CONFIRMATION STUDENTS FINISH THE PROGRAM? Students and parents/guardians are required to attend a 3-week class led by our lead pastor and youth leaders to write Blessings & Faith Stories. This Class is held on three consecutive Sundays in April.
• WHEN DO STUDENTS GET CONFIRMED? Confirmation Sunday is always the first Sunday in May with a Blessing and Faith Story event the Saturday before, where students share their Faith Story with parents/relatives. At the end of the evening parents share a special blessing with their Confirmation student.
